Next stretch of our trip: Central Asia! We had a g Next stretch of our trip: Central Asia! We had a great two months cycling from Singapore to Chiang Mai and met a lot of wonderful people along the way, but we've been feeling the mountains calling us (and the rain has been getting to us). Going from Thailand to Kazakhstan first requires a bit of mechanics for the ✈. See you soon, Almaty!
The monsoon rains cleared so we decided to soak up The monsoon rains cleared so we decided to soak up the sun and visit some of Thailand's great beaches and islands. Tomorrow we're back on the bike and headed north! 🚲🏖️🏝️
We just entered Thailand and now get to experience We just entered Thailand and now get to experience the monsoon season! It's just a few showers/downpours during the day, but no worries--just more coffee breaks for us ☕🚲
A few days before arriving in Malaysia, we realize A few days before arriving in Malaysia, we realized that we'd be cycling during Ramadan... Which is concerning for two food-monster cyclists. Although a lot of the roadside food stands are closed during this time, people have been very generous while we're biking, sometimes surprising us with water and treats (like these humongous rambutans) although they can't consume anything until sundown. We were particularly touched when an imam gave us some water bottles while we were hiding from the sun at a mosque.

With a brand-new @hasebikes handlebar, great roads in Malaysia, smooth traffic and chilled drivers, we've changed our rhythm to alternating positions every day. You might not be able to tell from the picture, but Cassie can actually see the road 😉

Goodbye Australia, the past two months were a blas Goodbye Australia, the past two months were a blast! We want to thank everyone who hosted us, gave us treats and beers, and all who gave (friendly) honks and waves on the road- your kindness and generosity is what made this trip unforgettable. Now on to Singapore to cycle SE Asia!
The feeling of conquering it all! Tasmania, with i The feeling of conquering it all! Tasmania, with its wind and hills, brought us to our physical limit (which was biking at 4 km/hr... uphill...with super strong headwinds... in a light rain). We were amazed to see how a combination of focus, determination, and thunder thighs kept us going. This picture is of us soaking up a glorious day on the Central Plateau after two excruciating days on the road and knowing that we can push through anything. We were so proud of ourselves that we ate a pizza... Or two.
