]]>Hase Bikes has a little design issue… they apparently rarely go on forest or dirt trails!
Our problem is actually almost worse than V-brakes because we get mud over half of the circumference of the wheel, with literally no way to access the stucked mud. The Pino was designed to put thin road-touring tires, obviously inadequate for the countries and paths we went through, so we deformed the mudguard to be able to use a 2,15 inches tire on the rear wheel (the Schwalbe Mondial), and the frame with the mudguard is so narrow that there is literally only 2mm of space on the sides (maybe 8mm over the tire). The frame is not like what you would expect on a mountain bike, with narrower chain stays (kinda like a road bike) that limit the space for the wheels a lot…
This is possibly the biggest drawback of the Pino: we both agreed that we would do any other rough trip with bikes more flexible where we could put some much better wheels and tires – and float on 3 inches tires!
